Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Hospital Porters to join our team in Sheffield. This crucial role involves ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout our hospital facilities. You will be an integral part of our healthcare team, contributing directly to patient care and operational efficiency. We are proud to offer guaranteed hours with no zero-hour contracts, providing stability and security for our valued staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and courteously between wards, departments, and clinics using appropriate equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, trolleys, beds).
- Move medical equipment, specimens, records, and supplies throughout the hospital as required.
- Deliver and collect mail, parcels, and other items within designated timescales.
- Assist clinical staff with patient transfers and positioning when necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of all transport equipment.
- Respond promptly to requests via radio or pager system.
- Adhere to all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding policies.
