Job Description
Are you looking for an active role where you can contribute to maintaining safe and clean environments? Mears Group plc is seeking a dedicated Gutter Cleaning Assistant to join our property maintenance team in Oxford. This role involves working at height, so a strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow strict protocols are essential. Full training and all necessary safety gear will be provided to ensure you can perform your duties confidently and securely. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians in the safe and efficient cleaning of gutters on various residential and commercial properties.
- Operate and maintain a range of cleaning equipment, including high-reach poles, ladders, and gutter vacuums.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, particularly those related to working at height.
- Inspect gutters and downpipes for blockages, damage, and wear, reporting findings to the team leader.
- Prepare work sites by setting up safety barriers and ensuring clear access.
- Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by completing work to a high standard and leaving sites tidy.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and working at height.
- Strong adherence to safety procedures and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor maintenance or cleaning role.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations for working at height (e.g., IPAF, PASMA).
- Customer service skills.
