Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our dedicated team in Kingston upon Hull. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our critical infrastructure, data, and applications from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and contributing to the overall security posture of Siemens Digital Industries. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions and controls across our IT and OT environments.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and remediate weaknesses.
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) for alerts and anomalies, investigating and responding to security incidents.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and system deployments.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on cyber security matters to internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies, recommending proactive measures.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, including forensic analysis and recovery efforts.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security principles (Azure/AWS).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Proficiency in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH.
- Experience with industrial control systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) security.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Experience with security architecture design and review.
