Job Description
Are you a compassionate individual with a deep love for animals and a strong work ethic? Fairbanks Family Animal Park is seeking a dedicated Petting Zoo Enclosure Cleaner to join our animal care team. This vital role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all petting zoo enclosures, contributing directly to the health, safety, and comfort of our animals and guests. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining a pristine and inviting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect animal enclosures, barns, and common areas on a daily basis.
- Remove animal waste, soiled bedding, and uneaten food promptly and effectively.
- Monitor and report any concerns regarding animal health, enclosure integrity, or supply levels to senior staff.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of fresh bedding materials.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all park safety and animal welfare protocols.
- Maintain a respectful and compassionate demeanor towards all animals and park visitors.
- Assist with general groundskeeping and upkeep as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and stooping.
- Comfortable working with various farm animals in an outdoor setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must love animals and demonstrate a gentle, caring approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care, farm work, or cleaning services.
- Knowledge of basic animal husbandry and hygiene practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
