Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cellar Storage Planner with a specific focus on optimizing our racks and bins systems. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient inventory flow, maximizing storage capacity, and ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of products within our cellar facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse planning, inventory management, and a strong understanding of storage infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient storage strategies for wine and spirits in racks and bins.
- Optimize cellar layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring proper product rotation and accessibility.
- Coordinate with warehouse operations teams for incoming shipments and outgoing orders.
- Conduct regular audits of storage areas to ensure compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Identify and resolve storage-related bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to anticipate storage needs based on product forecasts.
- Assist in the selection and procurement of new racking and bin solutions.
- Train warehouse staff on best practices for storage and inventory handling.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse planning or inventory management.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems (e.g., WMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret warehouse layouts and schematics.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the beverage or food distribution industry.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles.
