Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Transporting patients safely and comfortably between wards, departments, and clinics, often using wheelchairs, trolleys, or beds.
  • Moving medical equipment, supplies, and specimens throughout the hospital efficiently.
  • Delivering mail, records, and other materials to various departments.
  • Assisting with the setup and relocation of equipment in clinical areas.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment.
  • Responding to urgent requests for portering services.
  • Maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanour with patients and staff at all times.
  • Following all health and safety guidelines and hospital policies.
  • Collaborating effectively with nurses, doctors, and administrative staff.
