Job Description

Are you passionate about video games and have a keen eye for detail? Electronic Arts is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Immediate Hire Playtester. This is an entry-level opportunity to get your foot in the door of the exciting video game industry. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive orientation and training to equip you with the skills needed to succeed. You will be responsible for rigorously testing unreleased games, identifying bugs, and providing valuable feedback to our development teams, helping to shape the future of interactive entertainment. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute detailed test plans and identify software bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies across various gaming platforms.
  • Document and report issues clearly, concisely, and accurately using our internal bug-tracking tools.
  • Provide constructive and actionable feedback on gameplay mechanics, user interface, overall user experience, and game balance.
  • Collaborate effectively with development, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure high product quality.
  • Adhere strictly to confidentiality agreements regarding unreleased games, features, and intellectual property.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and communicate progress and potential risks to project leads.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of game industry trends and best practices in quality assurance.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for video games and interactive entertainment across various genres.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate findings effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with navigating software applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Experience with bug reporting software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) is a plus.
  • Understanding of different game genres and mechanics.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or testing role (even informal or personal game testing experience).
