Job Description

Are you a compassionate and empathetic individual looking to make a meaningful impact? Caremark in Derry is seeking dedicated Caregivers/Companions to provide essential support to our clients within their homes. No prior experience or certification is required to start, as we provide comprehensive training. This role offers flexible hours, allowing you to balance your work with personal commitments, while delivering vital care that truly enhances quality of life. As a Caregiver/Companion, you will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and offer peace of mind to individuals and their families. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support with medication reminders and management.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Perform light household duties, such as tidying and laundry.
  • Run errands and assist with grocery shopping.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client's health or well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.

Required Skills

  • Genuine empathy, patience, and a caring nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care setting (even informal care for a family member).
  • First Aid certification.
  • QCF/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (not required to start, but beneficial for progression).
