Job Description
As a Bulb & Socket Replacement Aide, you will be a vital part of our home safety team, responsible for safely replacing bulbs and faulty electrical sockets in residential properties. This role focuses heavily on ensuring electrical safety standards are met and providing excellent customer service. You will work independently and as part of a team, following established safety protocols and company guidelines. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely replace various types of light bulbs and fittings in customer homes.
- Identify and replace faulty electrical sockets, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct basic visual inspections of electrical fixtures for potential hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Provide clear and polite explanations to customers regarding work being performed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Manage and organize company-provided tools and equipment.
- Travel to customer locations within the Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire area.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical safety principles.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting light equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a home maintenance or service role.
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Electrical Installation (or similar relevant qualification).
- Knowledge of local building and electrical codes.
- First Aid certification.
