Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and personable Boutique Hotel Porter to join our prestigious team at The Grand Hotel, Torquay. In this pivotal front-of-house role, you will be one of the first and last points of contact for many of our esteemed guests, setting a welcoming and sophisticated tone for their entire stay. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting guests with luggage, providing comprehensive local information and recommendations, ensuring the pristine appearance and smooth operation of our entrance and lobby areas, and consistently contributing to the overall luxury experience that defines our distinguished hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome all guests upon arrival and efficiently assist with luggage handling, ensuring a seamless and effortless check-in and check-out process.
- Escort guests to their rooms, providing a comprehensive overview of the hotel's facilities, services, and key room features.
- Skillfully assist with a diverse range of guest inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information regarding hotel services, local attractions, dining options, and transportation.
- Maintain an impeccably tidy, clean, and presentable lobby and entrance area, ensuring a consistently positive and inviting first impression for all visitors.
- Efficiently handle all incoming and outgoing deliveries, mail, and packages, ensuring prompt and accurate distribution.
- Proactively support other hotel departments as needed, fostering a collaborative, harmonious, and highly efficient team environment.
- Ensure the utmost guest security, privacy, and confidentiality are maintained at all times, adhering strictly to hotel policies and procedures.
- Assist with valet parking services as required, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle handling.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a hotel or luxury hospitality environment, particularly in a porter or front-of-house role.
- In-depth knowledge of Torquay and the stunning surrounding Devon area, including key attractions and local points of interest.
- Proficiency in additional languages is considered a significant advantage.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license (for occasional valet parking duties or guest transport, if applicable).
