Job Description
We are seeking an active and reliable individual to join our team as a Bottle Return Machine Emptier. In this crucial supermarket role, you will be responsible for ensuring our bottle return machines are functioning efficiently by regularly emptying them, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting customers with their returns. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a tidy and operational bottle return area.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor and empty bottle return machines as they fill up.
- Sort and consolidate returned bottles and cans into appropriate bins or containers.
- Maintain a clean and organized bottle return area, including sweeping and wiping down machines.
- Troubleshoot minor issues with bottle return machines and report larger malfunctions to management.
- Assist customers with bottle return inquiries and provide friendly service.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed during the handling and disposal of recycled materials.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy bags or bins of bottles/cans (up to 50 lbs).
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, and repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Attention to detail for sorting and maintaining cleanliness.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or supermarket environment.
- Familiarity with waste management or recycling processes.
- Strong customer service orientation.
