Job Description
Are you a charismatic individual with a knack for entertainment and a friendly demeanor? The Amherstburg Community Gaming Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Bingo Hall Caller & Floor Staff member to join our dynamic team! This dual-role position is perfect for someone who loves engaging with people, can command a room with a microphone, and enjoys contributing to a lively community atmosphere. You’ll be the face and voice of our bingo sessions, ensuring players have a memorable and exciting experience, while also assisting with floor operations to keep everything running smoothly. This role offers the unique opportunity to earn tips in addition to a competitive hourly wage, recognizing your direct impact on player enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
- Call bingo numbers clearly, enthusiastically, and at an appropriate pace, using a microphone.
- Engage with players, announce winners, and maintain an exciting and fair game atmosphere.
- Verify winning bingo cards and assist in distributing prizes.
- Circulate on the bingo floor, assisting players with game-related questions, equipment, and general needs.
- Handle sales of bingo cards, pull-tabs, and other gaming products accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bingo hall and gaming areas.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment for bingo sessions.
- Promote upcoming events and special promotions to players.
- Resolve minor player issues and escalate complex situations to management.
- Adhere to all gaming regulations, company policies, and health and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Outgoing, friendly, and approachable personality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
- Strong attention to detail for verifying bingo cards and handling transactions.
- Basic mathematical skills for sales and prize calculations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Comfortable using a microphone and audio equipment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older (or legal age for gaming operations in Ontario).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, entertainment, or public-facing role.
- Familiarity with bingo game rules and operations.
- Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) system experience.
- A passion for community engagement and local entertainment.
