Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Manager to join our dynamic team in Norwich. As an Audit Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, and developing junior staff. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business needs.
  • Review audit working papers and financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and auditing standards.
  • Oversee and develop junior audit staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to clients and engagement partners.
  • Contribute to the development of audit strategies and methodologies.
  • Actively participate in business development initiatives and tender processes.
  • Manage engagement budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in external audit within a public practice firm.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and coaching skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of building strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with clients in specific sectors relevant to the Norwich market (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, public sector).
  • Experience with data analytics tools in an audit context.
  • A track record of contributing to business development or practice growth initiatives.
