Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Audit Manager to join our dynamic team in Midtown Manhattan. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious audit professional currently working within a Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firm to advance their career with one of the world’s premier professional services organizations. As an Audit Manager, you will be instrumental in leading audit engagements, mentoring junior staff, and fostering strong client relationships. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality audit services across diverse industries, ensuring compliance and providing valuable insights to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to professional standards and firm methodologies.
- Supervise, train, and mentor audit staff and seniors, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional development.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, understanding their business and identifying potential service opportunities.
- Review audit workpapers and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to clients and engagement partners.
- Manage engagement budgets and deadlines, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and profitably.
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting pronouncements, and regulatory changes.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and firm growth.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in public accounting, specifically in audit, within a Big 4 or Top 10 firm.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and IFRS.
- Proven experience in managing multiple audit engagements simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
- CPA designation or equivalent international professional accounting qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience auditing clients in diverse industries (e.g., financial services, technology, manufacturing).
- Demonstrated track record of developing and mentoring junior staff.
- Advanced proficiency with audit software and data analytics tools.
- Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
