Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and finance-focused Google Account Auditor to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and auditing client Google accounts (e.g., Google Ads, Google Cloud Platform billing, Google Analytics setups) to ensure financial accuracy, compliance with contractual agreements, and optimal expenditure. You will identify discrepancies, provide actionable insights, and collaborate with internal teams and clients to implement best practices. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with diverse clients across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial audits of client Google accounts, including Google Ads expenditure, Google Cloud Platform billing, and other Google service-related invoices.
- Verify the accuracy of billing data, campaign costs, budget allocations, and financial reporting within Google platforms.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, overspend, underutilization, and potential areas for cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with client contracts, regulatory requirements, and Google's advertising/platform policies.
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and evidence for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with client account managers, finance teams, and digital marketing specialists to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and refine audit methodologies and tools specific to Google's ecosystem.
- Stay updated on Google platform changes, billing updates, and industry best practices in digital finance and auditing.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in financial auditing or accounting, with a strong focus on digital platforms.
- In-depth understanding of Google Ads billing structures, Google Cloud Platform cost management, or similar digital advertising/cloud service financial models.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex financial information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit projects concurrently in a remote environment.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Experience with SQL or other data querying languages for large datasets.
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools and accounting software.
- Previous experience working with a Big Four accounting firm or a large digital agency.
- Certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics, or Google Cloud Platform.
