Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Shopify Developer with a strong proficiency in Liquid to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Liquid Programmer, you will play a crucial role in developing, customizing, and optimizing complex Shopify themes and applications for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for translating design mockups and business requirements into high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Shopify solutions, ensuring best practices in performance and user experience. This role requires a deep understanding of the Shopify platform, its ecosystem, and advanced front-end development skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Develop and integrate custom Shopify apps and features, leveraging Shopify APIs and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver exceptional e-commerce solutions.
- Optimize Shopify stores for performance, speed, SEO, and conversion rates.
- Implement and maintain responsive designs across various devices and browsers.
- Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship to junior developers, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Shopify themes and functionality.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and development best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer.
- Expert-level proficiency in Shopify's Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of front-end web technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/Sass), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Extensive experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront, Admin) and developing custom apps.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Demonstrated ability to build responsive and accessible web interfaces.
- Understanding of e-commerce best practices, UI/UX principles, and site performance optimization.
- Experience with task runners/build tools like Webpack or Gulp.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Svelte.
- Knowledge of Headless Shopify architectures and related technologies.
- Experience with Shopify Plus features and enterprise-level e-commerce solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Shopify certification is a strong asset.
