Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Virtual Civil Service Recruiter to join our dedicated team. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent for critical civil service positions across various government departments. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from initial requisition to offer negotiation, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers. This position requires a deep understanding of public sector recruitment processes, civil service regulations, and a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards. As a virtual team member, you will leverage technology to connect with candidates and colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for civil service roles, from requisition creation to onboarding.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates, including passive candidates.
- Conduct thorough interviews, assessments, and background checks in compliance with government standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, providing expert guidance on recruitment best practices and market trends.
- Ensure all recruitment activities adhere to federal, provincial, and municipal employment laws and civil service regulations.
- Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software efficiently to manage candidate pipelines.
- Prepare and extend job offers, negotiating terms as necessary.
- Participate in virtual career fairs and networking events to promote Randstad Canada and attract talent.
- Provide an exceptional candidate experience through clear communication and timely feedback.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, with at least 1 year in public sector or civil service recruitment.
- Proven ability to source, screen, and select candidates for various professional roles.
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment law and public sector hiring regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced virtual environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with government contracting or staffing for public sector clients.
- Certified Professional Recruiter (CPR) or equivalent certification.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
