Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Tree Surgeon Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work and tree care, offering hands-on experience and professional development in a supportive environment. As an Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our certified Tree Surgeons in all aspects of tree work, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Tree Surgeons with all ground-based operations, including branch removal, timber processing, and chipping.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including chainsaws, wood chippers, and other arboricultural machinery.
- Ensure the work site is set up safely with appropriate signage and barriers, and maintain a clean and organised working area.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including dragging branches, stacking timber, and loading vehicles.
- Assist with site clearance and tidy-up operations after work is completed.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Support climbing arborists with ground rigging, equipment passing, and general assistance.
- Undertake regular equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development within arboriculture.

Preferred Qualifications
- Full UK driving license (Category B minimum).
- Previous experience in a manual labour, landscaping, or outdoor role.
- Basic knowledge of tree species and arboricultural practices.
- First Aid certification.
