Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as Drydock / Shipyard Laborers in Fells Point, Baltimore. This is a demanding, hard industrial work environment that requires commitment, attention to safety, and a strong work ethic. As a vital part of our operations, you will contribute to the maintenance, repair, and modernization of various vessels. This role offers excellent pay for individuals ready to tackle challenging tasks and grow within a crucial industry. No direct shipyard experience is required, as we are prepared to train motivated candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks in a drydock and shipyard environment, including cleaning, sweeping, material handling, and equipment movement.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., welders, pipefitters, electricians, mechanics) with various tasks, including fetching tools, holding materials, and preparing work areas.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies, often requiring heavy lifting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in rigging and scaffolding erection/dismantling as directed.
  • Support hazardous waste removal and disposal procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support shipyard operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Fells Point shipyard location.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a heavy industrial, construction, manufacturing, or maritime environment.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience operating forklifts, man lifts, or other heavy equipment.
  • Confined space and/or hot work training.
