Job Description

Are you passionate about pets and enjoy the great outdoors? We’re seeking a highly motivated and independent Dog Walking Route Manager to oversee and optimize dog walking routes and services in the Barry area. This is a dynamic role for someone who thrives on organization, problem-solving, and ensuring seamless operations. You will be responsible for coordinating schedules, managing logistics, and providing support to our network of independent dog walkers, all while enjoying the freedom of an outdoor, active work environment. This role is crucial for maintaining high client satisfaction and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and manage daily dog walking routes for efficiency and client satisfaction within the Barry service area.
  • Coordinate and support a team of independent dog walkers, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
  • Handle scheduling, client inquiries, and logistics related to dog walking services.
  • Monitor walker performance and route adherence, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Address and resolve operational issues or client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and occasional field visits to ensure service standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and service outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and expansion within the local market.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in route planning, logistics, or operational coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and mobile applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A genuine love for animals and understanding of pet care needs.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the pet services industry (e.g., dog walking, pet sitting, kennel management).
  • Familiarity with the Barry and Vale of Glamorgan geographic area.
  • Experience managing independent contractors or a remote team.
  • First Aid/CPR certification for pets.
