Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurse to provide exceptional one-on-one nursing care to a client in their home environment within the Wavertree area of Liverpool. This role requires a highly skilled and empathetic individual committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care, and collaborating with the client’s healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the client, family, and medical team.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management techniques and preventative care.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the client.
  • Communicate regularly with the client's family and other healthcare professionals.

Required Skills

  • Current NMC registration (Registered Nurse qualification).
  • Proven experience in a private duty nursing or home care setting.
  • Excellent clinical skills and judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car for home visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications in specific areas such as palliative care, gerontology, or chronic disease management.
  • Experience with complex medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, feeding tubes).
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
