Job Description
Are you ready for an extraordinary adventure? Cirque du Soleil is seeking dedicated and robust individuals to join our touring teams as Circus Big Top Setup Laborers. This physically demanding role involves the intricate and often challenging assembly and disassembly of our iconic Big Top tents and associated infrastructure at various locations worldwide. You will be an integral part of bringing the magic of Cirque du Soleil to life, traveling extensively and working hard to ensure our shows are ready for our audiences. This is a full-time position requiring exceptional physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to travel for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the assembly and disassembly of the Big Top tent structures, seating, stage, and other show-related equipment.
- Operate various tools and machinery safely under supervision, including forklifts, cranes, and hand tools.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment from trucks and shipping containers.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of Big Top components and tour equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company regulations during setup, teardown, and travel.
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of technicians, artists, and crew members.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the tour itinerary.
- Travel extensively with the touring show, often for several months at a time.
Required Skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and strength, capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg) repeatedly.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions meticulously.
- Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, stage production, event setup, or similar physically demanding roles.
- Familiarity with heavy machinery operation (e.g., forklift certification).
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages, especially French or Spanish.
- Valid international driver's license.
