Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Audio Editor to join our dynamic Digital News & Content team. This role is crucial for enhancing our digital storytelling through high-quality audio production for podcasts, news segments, and multimedia projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen ear for sound, a strong understanding of narrative structure in audio, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. While this is a full-time position, we offer flexible hours to accommodate a work-life balance, recognizing the importance of adaptability in modern media production.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, mix, and master audio content for various digital platforms, including podcasts, news reports, and long-form features.
- Ensure all audio assets meet high-quality standards for clarity, consistency, and broadcast readiness.
- Collaborate with producers, journalists, and content creators to understand project vision and deliver compelling audio experiences.
- Implement sound design elements, music, and voiceovers to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Manage audio libraries, archives, and digital asset workflows efficiently.
- Perform quality assurance checks on all audio before publication.
- Stay updated with industry trends, audio software, and best practices in digital audio production.
- Troubleshoot audio-related technical issues and provide solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X).
- Strong understanding of audio recording, mixing, and mastering techniques.
- Excellent ear for detail, timing, and rhythm.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Fundamental knowledge of digital media formats and distribution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in audio editing, preferably in a news or digital media environment.
- Experience with podcast production, including episode planning, recording, and post-production.
- Familiarity with journalistic ethics and best practices for factual reporting in audio.
- Knowledge of various audio codecs and delivery specifications.
- Experience with sound design and foley artistry.
