Job Description
As a Pinterest UX Researcher specializing in User Testing, you will play a crucial role in understanding user behavior and informing product design decisions. This is a 100% remote position where you will lead and execute user testing initiatives, gather insights, and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for our product teams. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure the user experience on Pinterest is intuitive, delightful, and impactful. Your expertise in various user testing methodologies will be vital in identifying usability issues and uncovering user needs across different features and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute a wide range of user testing studies, including usability tests, concept tests, and user interviews, both moderated and unmoderated.
- Recruit appropriate participants and manage logistics for user testing sessions.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from user tests to identify key user behaviors, pain points, and unmet needs.
- Translate research findings into clear, concise, and compelling insights and recommendations for product and design teams.
- Present research findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels, fostering a user-centric mindset.
- Collaborate closely with product designers, product managers, and engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain research documentation, including test plans, protocols, and reports.
- Champion user-centered design principles and methodologies within the organization.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience conducting user research, with a strong focus on user testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in designing and executing various user testing techniques (e.g., usability testing, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing).
- Experience with qualitative data analysis and synthesis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex research findings clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with remote research tools and platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Experience working on large-scale consumer-facing products.
- Familiarity with design thinking principles and agile development environments.
- Experience with statistical analysis and quantitative research methods.
- Portfolio showcasing past research projects and impact.
