Job Description
Are you ready to be a vital part of a busy kitchen team? Greggs in Sheffield City Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Hand to support our fast-paced operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to learn. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly, from food preparation to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. We provide a free uniform and shoes, ensuring you’re comfortable and ready to contribute from day one!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support the cooking team with various duties as required.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Dispose of waste responsibly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
