Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Houston Port Logistics Hand to join our team in Glendale, CA. This role is crucial for coordinating and managing the flow of goods that interact with Houston ports, ensuring smooth operations from our central distribution point. While based in Glendale, you will be responsible for tasks related to freight inbound from or outbound to the Port of Houston, requiring meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This on-site position involves a combination of administrative tasks, physical handling of goods, and coordination with various stakeholders to maintain optimal supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track logistics for freight destined for or originating from Houston ports.
- Perform inventory management, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods within the Glendale facility.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (training provided if needed).
- Prepare shipping documentation, labels, and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaise with carriers, port authorities, and internal teams to resolve any logistical issues or delays.
- Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Utilize logistics software and systems for data entry and record-keeping related to all freight movements.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience (1+ years) in a warehouse, logistics, or port operations environment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating similar heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with supply chain management software (e.g., WMS, TMS).
- Understanding of port operations and freight documentation.
