Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Independent Shopify Consultant to join our network of experts. In this contract role, you will leverage your deep expertise in the Shopify ecosystem to guide global brands through complex e-commerce challenges, from platform migrations and custom theme development to app integrations and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consulting on Shopify platform capabilities, best practices, and strategic e-commerce solutions.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client requirements and translate them into actionable technical and business strategies.
- Design and implement custom Shopify themes and functionalities using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant APIs.
- Manage and execute Shopify app integrations, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
- Conduct technical audits, performance optimizations, and troubleshoot complex issues within Shopify stores.
- Collaborate with client teams, including marketing, design, and development, to deliver cohesive e-commerce solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify updates, industry trends, and emerging e-commerce technologies.
- Develop and present comprehensive proposals, project plans, and progress reports to clients.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with the Shopify platform (Shopify Plus preferred).
- Expert proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (including ES6+, React, or Vue.js).
- Proven experience with Shopify API integrations and custom app development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, UX/UI principles, and digital marketing strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Partner certification or relevant Shopify developer certifications.
- Experience with headless commerce implementations on Shopify.
- Proficiency with modern front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp).
- Knowledge of SEO principles and web analytics (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager).
- Previous consulting experience with global brands.
