Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Nanny to join a wonderful family in Oakland, CA, for a long-term commitment. This full-time position requires a professional who is passionate about child development, reliable, and able to create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment for children ranging from toddler to elementary school age. The ideal candidate will become an integral part of the family’s support system, contributing to the children’s growth and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and engaging care for children, fostering their physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
- Plan and execute age-appropriate educational activities, creative play, and outdoor adventures.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children, adhering to any dietary restrictions.
- Assist with homework and school projects, promoting a love for learning.
- Manage children's schedules, including school pick-ups/drop-offs and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for the children, including tidying play areas and children's rooms.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding the children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Oversee children's personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and potty training as needed.
- Handle minor first aid situations and administer medication as instructed by parents.
- Foster positive behavior and social skills through consistent guidance and encouragement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of professional nanny or childcare experience with verifiable references.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging educational and recreational activities.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with children of various age groups (toddlers to school-age).
- Knowledge of child development stages and age-appropriate learning techniques.
- Experience with positive discipline strategies.
- Proficiency in a second language.
- Non-smoker.
