Job Description

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport is excited to offer a unique opportunity for individuals to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). As a CNA Trainee, we will fully fund your CNA certification program, providing you with the essential skills, knowledge, and certification needed to thrive in a clinical setting. This entry-level position is perfect for dedicated individuals eager to learn and grow within a supportive hospital environment. Upon successful completion of the training and certification, you will transition into a full-fledged CNA role within our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program, fully sponsored by Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
- Learn and apply fundamental patient care skills under direct supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, as part of the training curriculum.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
- Observe and accurately report changes in patient condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate compassion, respect, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and team members.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a healthcare team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a structured environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Demonstrated interest in the healthcare field through volunteer work or prior studies.
