Job Description
As an Auto Body Technician / Panel Beater at Halfords Autocentres, you will be a crucial part of our team, responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of vehicle construction and repair techniques. We are seeking skilled individuals passionate about automotive repair and dedicated to delivering high-quality workmanship. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is available for eligible candidates, demonstrating our commitment to attracting the best talent globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose damage and estimate repair times and costs accurately.
- Perform body repairs, including panel beating, filling, shaping, and aligning panels to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilise appropriate tools and techniques to remove and replace damaged parts.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain high levels of productivity.
- Collaborate effectively with paint technicians and other team members to achieve a seamless repair process.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair methods and techniques.
- Proficiency in using a variety of body repair tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical diagrams accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Body Repair.
- Experience with a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
- I-CAR or similar industry certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior technicians.
