Job Description
Are you a true cycle enthusiast with a knack for keeping bikes in pristine condition? Evans Cycles is looking for a dedicated Bicycle Maintenance & Valet to join our vibrant team in Camden Town. This role is perfect for someone passionate about bicycles, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional service. You will be instrumental in ensuring our bikes are perfectly prepared, maintained, and presented to our high standards, ready for our customers to enjoy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on a variety of bicycles.
- Assemble new bicycles accurately and efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines.
- Execute minor repairs and adjustments, ensuring all bikes are in optimal riding condition.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and valeting of bicycles, presenting them to an impeccable standard.
- Assist with inventory management related to bike parts and accessories.
- Support the workshop team and retail staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Provide friendly and helpful service to customers regarding bike care and maintenance.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health and safety.
Required Skills
- Proven passion for cycling and bicycle mechanics.
- Basic understanding of bicycle components and functions.
- Ability to use a range of hand tools effectively and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bike shop or workshop environment (even voluntary).
- Basic Cytech qualification or equivalent industry certification.
- Experience with a variety of bike types (road, mountain, e-bikes).
- A desire to continuously learn and develop mechanical skills.
