Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our clinic-based team in Crystal City, Arlington, VA. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease, managing their dialysis treatments, and educating them on their condition and treatment plan. This is a clinic-based position with no overnight shifts, allowing for a consistent schedule and a focus on patient well-being during daylight hours. You will work closely with nephrologists, patient care technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer hemodialysis treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, assessing for changes in condition and reacting appropriately to complications.
- Educate patients and their families on kidney disease, dialysis treatment, medication management, and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of dialysis equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care, fostering a positive experience for patients and their families.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in dialysis or nephrology nursing.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
