Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic teams across various settings within the Western Health and Social Care Trust. You will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help individuals of all ages achieve their maximum level of independence and quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, interpreting and analysing complex information to formulate accurate diagnoses and care plans.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised intervention programs based on evidence-based practice and patient-centred goals.
- Provide a range of therapeutic interventions including rehabilitation, equipment provision, adaptations, and education to promote functional independence.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure integrated and holistic care delivery.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Manage a diverse caseload, prioritising tasks and delegating appropriately to support staff where applicable.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the occupational therapy department and the wider Trust.
- Adhere to professional codes of conduct and ethical guidelines, ensuring patient safety and well-being at all times.
Required Skills
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification.
- Current professional registration with a regulatory body (e.g., HCPC for UK applicants, or equivalent and eligible for registration for international applicants).
- Demonstrable clinical experience in occupational therapy, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within an NHS or similar public healthcare system.
- Post-graduate training or specialisation in a relevant clinical area (e.g., neurological rehabilitation, mental health, paediatrics).
- Experience supervising junior staff or students.
- Demonstrable experience with caseload management in a busy clinical environment.
