Job Description

Join the Irving Oil team as a Truck Wash Bay Attendant, playing a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our extensive fleet of commercial vehicles. This is an active, hands-on position within a fast-paced, wet environment, primarily focused on washing large rigs and trailers to ensure they meet our high standards of appearance and operational readiness. We are looking for a dedicated individual who isn’t afraid of physical work and thrives in a team setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate high-pressure washing equipment to thoroughly clean the exterior of various commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Apply appropriate cleaning solutions and detergents safely and effectively.
  • Perform pre-wash inspections to identify any special cleaning needs or damage.
  • Execute post-wash inspections to ensure all vehicles meet cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay area, including proper disposal of waste and upkeep of equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures, especially when working with chemicals and heavy equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with other general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient wash bay operations.
  • Adapt to varying vehicle types and cleaning requirements.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting in a wet environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning of large vehicles.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating pressure washers or similar cleaning equipment.
  • Experience working in a vehicle maintenance or fleet service environment.
  • Familiarity with commercial truck washing procedures.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
