Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled BIM Manager to join our dynamic team in Falmouth, Cornwall. As a BIM Manager at Kier Group, you will be instrumental in driving the implementation, development, and adherence to Building Information Modelling (BIM) standards and processes across our projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of information-rich models and data, enhancing collaboration and efficiency from design through to construction and operations. This role requires a deep understanding of BIM technologies, workflows, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of BIM execution plans (BEP) for projects.
  • Manage and mentor BIM Coordinators and Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to project BIM requirements, company standards, and industry protocols (e.g., ISO 19650).
  • Facilitate model coordination meetings, conduct clash detection, and resolve coordination issues.
  • Develop and maintain BIM content libraries, templates, and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related queries and challenges.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of BIM capabilities within Kier Group.
  • Support tender and bid processes by demonstrating BIM expertise and proposed solutions.
  • Report on BIM performance and progress to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Strong experience with BIM 360 or similar common data environments (CDE).
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 19650 standards and their practical application.
  • Proven track record in managing BIM workflows on complex construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct effective training sessions and workshops.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience with clash detection and resolution processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • BIM certification (e.g., BRE BIM Certified Professional).
  • Experience with Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other visual programming tools.
  • Familiarity with other BIM-related software such as Synchro, CostX, or Solibri.
  • Knowledge of asset information requirements (AIR) and organizational information requirements (OIR).
