Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Geothermal Drilling Assistant (Mate) to join our dynamic team in Hamburg. This hands-on role involves intensive manual labor at our drilling sites, supporting the drilling crew in all aspects of geothermal well construction. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drilling operators and engineers with all aspects of drilling operations.
  • Perform manual handling of drill pipes, tools, and other heavy equipment.
  • Prepare drilling fluids and maintain proper circulation.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of drilling equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and site regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the drilling site.
  • Support the setup and dismantling of drilling rigs and ancillary equipment.
  • Monitor equipment gauges and report any abnormalities to the lead driller.
  • Participate in site inductions and safety briefings.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to perform strenuous manual labor in challenging outdoor environments.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Physical fitness and stamina.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including shifts, weekends, and potentially extended periods on site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in drilling, construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Forklift operator certification or similar heavy equipment experience.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of basic German language is a plus.
  • Technical vocational training in a relevant field.
