Job Description
Genesis Health System is seeking a dedicated and organized Entry-Level X-Ray / Radiology File Clerk to join our administrative team. This vital role is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in healthcare administration, offering an excellent opportunity to learn the operational aspects of a busy radiology department. As a File Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient management of patient radiology files, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility. You will play a key role in supporting our medical professionals and ensuring smooth departmental operations. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, file, and retrieve X-ray and radiology reports and images accurately.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with data entry and updating patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Prepare and compile patient charts for radiology appointments.
- Manage incoming and outgoing departmental mail and faxes.
- Scan and digitize physical records for electronic storage.
- Provide administrative support to the radiology department staff as needed.
- Ensure the radiology filing system is maintained in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Respond to inquiries regarding patient file locations from authorized personnel.
- Assist with inventory and ordering of office supplies for the department.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
