Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Water Damage Restoration Assistant to join our on-call roster. This position is vital for our rapid response team, assisting with the assessment, mitigation, and restoration of properties affected by water damage. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and be available for emergency call-outs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a physically demanding role that offers significant opportunities for overtime and growth within the restoration industry. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency water damage calls as part of an on-call roster.
- Assist in setting up and monitoring drying equipment, including dehumidifiers, air movers, and extractors.
- Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials (e.g., drywall, flooring) under supervision.
- Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold growth and further damage.
- Load and unload equipment and supplies from company vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of job progress, equipment used, and materials consumed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines on all job sites.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after use.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) regularly.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including an on-call rotation, evenings, and weekends.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment (training provided).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field.
- IICRC certification (e.g., WRT) or willingness to obtain.
- Familiarity with safety procedures for hazardous environments.
