Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Venture Capital Principal to join our investment team. This role is a critical part of our investment strategy, focusing on identifying, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities in cutting-edge technology and software sectors. The Principal will be instrumental in all stages of the investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio company support and exit strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Source and identify compelling investment opportunities in various technology sectors.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial modeling, market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and technology evaluations.
- Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.
- Negotiate deal terms and structures alongside senior partners.
- Support portfolio companies with strategic guidance, operational improvements, and talent acquisition.
- Represent Insight Partners at industry conferences, networking events, and startup pitch sessions.
- Assist in fundraising efforts and investor relations as needed.
- Mentor and guide junior investment professionals on the team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a relevant operational role within a high-growth technology company.
- Proven track record of deal sourcing, execution, and portfolio management.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of technology trends, business models, and market dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to influence stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a top-tier institution.
- Sector-specific expertise in SaaS, FinTech, Cybersecurity, AI, or B2B software.
- Experience working with diverse teams and international markets.
- Existing network within the venture capital or technology ecosystem.
