Job Description
United Parcel Service (UPS) is seeking dedicated and skilled Coach Drivers for intercity routes originating from our Ogden, UT hub. As a UPS Coach Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and, potentially, personnel between various cities. This critical role ensures the timely delivery of our services, upholding UPS’s reputation for reliability and excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial coach vehicle on designated intercity routes.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, including DOT hours of service.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo and/or passengers.
- Maintain accurate logs, vehicle records, and travel documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers.
- Represent UPS professionally at all times.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement (if applicable).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 70 lbs, and handle a physically demanding job.
- Proficiency in route navigation and planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with intercity or long-haul driving.
- Advanced defensive driving certification.
- Familiarity with logistics and transportation software.
- Mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
