Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Traffic Warden / Control Officer to join our team. In this independent role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, compliance with parking regulations, and public safety across various locations within the Gold Coast. This position offers the opportunity for significant autonomy in your daily duties, a strong sense of responsibility, and the security of a great pension plan. Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol designated areas to observe traffic and parking conditions.
  • Enforce parking regulations, issuing infringement notices where necessary.
  • Manage traffic flow during special events, roadworks, or emergencies.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public regarding traffic laws and local directions.
  • Identify and report hazards, faulty equipment, or illegal activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
  • Operate council vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Liaise effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian Driver's License (Class C minimum)
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy for record keeping
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations professionally
  • Knowledge of relevant traffic and parking regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a traffic management, security, or public service role
  • First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of Gold Coast city geography and road networks
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution
