Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Ice Sculpture Setup Assistant to join our dynamic events team in Tamworth. This role is crucial for ensuring the pristine condition and successful display of our intricate ice sculptures at various events. You will be responsible for the careful handling, transportation, assembly, and maintenance of ice artworks, often working in controlled cold environments. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload delicate ice sculptures and related equipment to various event locations.
- Assist lead sculptors and technicians with the assembly and installation of ice displays, following precise diagrams and instructions.
- Prepare display areas, including setting up lighting, drainage, and protective coverings.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of ice sculptures during events, making minor adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Operate specialized equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, trolleys, potentially forklifts) for moving heavy or fragile items.
- Ensure all safety protocols are strictly adhered to, especially when working with cold materials and equipment.
- Assist with the dismantling and removal of ice sculptures post-event, ensuring proper disposal or storage.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, clients, and venue staff to ensure seamless execution.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including cleaning, organizing, and inventory management of tools and equipment.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and maneuver heavy, delicate objects (up to 25kg).
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to handling fragile items.
- Ability to work effectively in cold environments for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in events setup, art handling, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Basic understanding of refrigeration or temperature control.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
