Job Description
Are you a customer service enthusiast with a valid driver’s license? Sobeys is looking for dedicated and friendly Home Delivery Drivers to join our team in Halifax. This role is crucial in ensuring our online grocery orders reach our customers promptly and efficiently. We offer flexible hours to suit your lifestyle and provide a company van, so you don’t need to use your own vehicle. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided delivery van to transport groceries to customer homes.
- Adhere to scheduled delivery times and routes to ensure timely service.
- Verify order accuracy and collect customer signatures upon delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any delivery-related inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Handle products with care, ensuring they are delivered in perfect condition.
- Navigate routes using GPS and maintain clear communication with dispatch.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) Nova Scotia driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry groceries, including heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Halifax and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery or courier services.
- Familiarity with grocery products and inventory handling.
- Experience with mobile delivery applications and GPS navigation systems.
