Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate team at Laramie Care Center. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about elder care and seeking a role where they can make a significant impact. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing direct care, support, and companionship to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor residents’ health, and assist with daily living activities. This position offers sponsorship support for eligible international candidates looking to contribute their skills and expertise to our facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Monitor residents' health status, documenting observations and reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Support residents with meal times, ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
  • Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges as required.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Care Assistant or similar role in a care setting.
  • CNA certification (or equivalent qualification) required.
  • Strong understanding of elder care principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and perform care tasks.
  • Demonstrated reliability, compassion, and a strong work ethic.
  • Eligibility for sponsorship support for international candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications in specialized care areas (e.g., dementia care, first aid).
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
