Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Student Nurse Associates to join our team in Centerville, Fremont. This is a unique opportunity for current nursing students to gain invaluable hands-on clinical experience in a supportive hospital setting. The Student Nurse Associate role is designed to complement your academic studies with practical skills, working alongside licensed nurses to provide high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed nurses with direct patient care activities, including vital signs, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in patient condition accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, addressing non-clinical needs and fostering a positive patient experience.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program.
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to patient care and a passion for learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
