Job Description
Are you an adaptable and reliable driver seeking a dynamic role with a leading global logistics company? FedEx Express is looking for a dedicated Swing Driver to join our team in Costa Mesa, CA. As a Swing Driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations, covering a variety of routes as needed to ensure timely and efficient package delivery and pickup. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and FedEx operational guidelines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Cover various routes, including pick-up and delivery services, as assigned to meet operational needs.
- Load and unload packages accurately and safely, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Scan and document package information using handheld devices.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries, representing FedEx Express professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Complete all required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- Ability to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 75 lbs without assistance and up to 150 lbs with appropriate assistance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. and pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or professional driving role.
- Knowledge of the Costa Mesa and surrounding Orange County geographical area.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or similar technology.
