Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart a career in exterior maintenance with a company that prioritizes your safety and growth? Apex Exterior Solutions is seeking a motivated and reliable Gutter Cleaning Trainee to join our Burnaby team. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training and all necessary full safety gear. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the ropes of professional gutter cleaning, working alongside experienced technicians, and contributing to the pristine appearance and maintenance of residential and commercial properties. We offer a supportive environment for learning and development, with clear paths for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with gutter cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Learn and apply proper safety procedures for working at heights and with equipment.
- Safely set up and take down ladders and other access equipment.
- Operate basic gutter cleaning tools and equipment under supervision.
- Perform thorough cleaning of gutters and downspouts, removing debris and blockages.
- Inspect gutters for damage and report findings to the lead technician.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in a professional manner.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Comfortable working at heights (with proper training and safety gear).
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (or ability to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role.
- Knowledge of basic home maintenance.
- First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with Burnaby and surrounding areas.
