Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Shuttle Porter to join our Malmaison Oxford team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation for our guests within the local Oxford area using the hotel’s guest van. This position requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to guest service, and the ability to assist with luggage and general porter duties. You will be a key point of contact for our guests, contributing significantly to their overall experience at our hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the hotel guest van safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Provide prompt and courteous shuttle service for guests to and from designated local points of interest, including train stations, bus stops, and popular attractions.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and other belongings, ensuring their safety and security.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of the guest van, performing daily checks and reporting any maintenance issues.
- Familiarize yourself with the local area, including major routes, attractions, and alternative transportation options, to provide accurate information to guests.
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, offering assistance and a professional demeanor.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests with efficiency and professionalism, escalating complex issues to management as needed.
- Support the front desk and concierge teams with various porter duties, including luggage delivery, errand running, and guest assistance.
- Ensure all guest interactions align with Malmaison's high standards of service and hospitality.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving passenger vehicles, preferably in a commercial or service capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of Oxford and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage up to 25kg.
- Customer-centric attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- First Aid certification.
- Multilingual abilities.
