Job Description

Deloitte is seeking an experienced and dynamic Think Tank Events Manager to join our team, focusing on the planning and execution of high-end conferences and thought leadership events. This critical role involves managing all aspects of event lifecycles, from conceptualization and strategic planning to flawless execution and post-event analysis. You will be instrumental in shaping the reputation of our internal think tank initiatives and external-facing engagements, ensuring each event reflects Deloitte’s brand excellence and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex events, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating impactful experiences that drive engagement and foster intellectual exchange. Significant travel will be required to oversee events at various prestigious venues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, development, and execution of high-profile conferences, workshops, and thought leadership forums for Deloitte’s think tank initiatives.
  • Manage event budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including research teams, marketing, and leadership, to define event objectives, content, and target audiences.
  • Oversee speaker identification, engagement, and content coordination, ensuring compelling and relevant programming.
  • Develop comprehensive event marketing and communication strategies in conjunction with marketing teams.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual production, registration, and on-site event management.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, analyze feedback, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all events comply with brand guidelines, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Travel extensively to event locations, nationally and internationally, to manage on-site operations and foster relationships with key partners.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate event management, conference planning, or a related field, preferably within a professional services firm, think tank, or academic institution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-end, complex events with a strong understanding of logistics, vendor negotiation, and budget management.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in event management software and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in event management (e.g., CMP – Certified Meeting Professional).
  • Experience with international event planning and cross-cultural communication.
  • Familiarity with thought leadership content development and dissemination strategies.
