Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Shopify Security Analyst to join our e-commerce security team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our Shopify-powered platforms and associated applications against cyber threats. You will conduct security assessments, manage vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and implement best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our customer data and online operations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of e-commerce security principles, and practical experience with the Shopify ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on our Shopify stores and integrated applications.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents swiftly.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the Shopify platform.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure security by design in new features and integrations.
- Manage and maintain security tools and technologies relevant to Shopify and e-commerce.
- Stay informed about the latest Shopify security features, best practices, and emerging threats.
- Conduct security awareness training for internal teams on Shopify-specific security risks.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on Shopify security enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., PCI DSS) for our e-commerce operations.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on web application security or e-commerce platforms.
- Proven experience with Shopify platform security features, APIs, and app ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of web security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and mitigation techniques.
- Proficiency in security tools for vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and SIEM.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, OSCP, CISSP).
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) in an e-commerce context.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, JavaScript) for automation of security tasks.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD security practices.
